The Hook Farm
2011

Nestled in the village of West Hoathly in the western reaches of Sussex, Hook Farm is a place of note, somewhat overshadowed by the 13th-century Church of St. Margaret. The farm itself and its surrounding expanse, while not far removed from the village's heart, evoke an aura of utmost seclusion, a realm far removed from the comforts of civilisation. The land teems with verdant foliage and, though suitable for pasturage, primarily finds its purpose as a campsite.

Conducting fieldwork in these rustic environs, we embarked on authentic site investigations and measurements, employing makeshift levelling devices. The culmination of our endeavours yielded the blueprint for an independent educational institution's campus, one that pays homage to the legacies of Black Mountain College and Bauhaus. The campus comprises four edifices: an academic hall, two residential blocks, and a temporary sylvan refuge.
